An ANAME Record (aka ALIAS Record) is a type of DNS record that points the root of domain to a hostname but not an IP address.

While A Record only allows you to point your root domain or subdomain to an IP address (example.com > 123.123.123.123), and CNAME Record can only point a subdomain to a hostname (www.example.com > examplehostname.com), ANAME Record combines the feature of both - it functions like CNAME Record, but at the root level.
